Today we spent class talking about local art events. The Heyde center in chippewa holds events for all types of art. The official website: http://www.cvca.net/. There is a Deluth local art show this weekend called "Walks of Life" or "Deluth Fall Festival". It is like a craft sale, but with all kinds of art featured. Local Artist can enter. It is being held to try and support local artists. Afterwards we shared our 6 functions of art artifacts that we all found, which are posted in the discussion on E360. I shared one advertisement poster I found for persuasion. The poster showed a dry, empty Earth and is trying to convince the reader to do something about the lack of water.

  • worship: Made to worship a religion and their God

  • Commemorate: To remember a certain event, usually tragic.

  • Persausion: The artist is trying to convince the veiwer about something. For example, using drastic imagry to convince them Global Warming is an issue.

  • Self-Expression: The artist creates for themselves, not to please others.
