Week Thirteen

Jillian did her presentation about Asian art. I personally found it interesting, since I’ve always been interested in Asian culture because it’s so different from American culture. Me and Sean helped her with the crossword game by writing on the board. We all took a quiz on her presentation and turned it in for 10 participation points. Tomorrow, Nolan and Katie will present and Crystal will continue covering the basics of Art History and explaining it on a timeline. Over this weekend, we must finish the “museum visit” assignment. We must visit 3 virtual museums, 1 online art gallery, and 1 physical museum. (A gallery usually focuses on more local art.) We must select 1 artwork from each institution and identify the different aspects and information about it. (media, size, artist, title, date made.) This is due Monday before class begins and must be posted on discussion. This Wednesday, the 23rd, there is no class. We can use this time instead to complete our museum visits. Crystal will be in the classroom if we have any questions.
Japan is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms and festivals. One day, i hope to go and experience both.

First today, crystal discussed the museum visit assignment again. She explained in more detail what we are supposed to do. The worksheet we must complete she now posted on E360 and the discussion. The group who was supposed to present today was not here, so we reviewed Art History by working on the timeline Crystal gave us earlier. Crystal reminded us tomorrow is optional, we can work on our museum visits or come in to ask her questions. We must bring in the completed worksheet on Monday for peer review. Also, the link for our final e-portfolio must be posted on discussion. I love this picture because its so realistic yet you can also see the brushstrokes.
